Vitamin A is a vital nutrient for acne skin due to its ability to increase healthy cellular turnover, reducing hyperkeratosis and supporting dermal replenishment. This specific formulation uses an encapsulated retinaldehyde to deliver the benefits of vitamin A deep within the layers of the skin. Combined with antibacterial support from mandelic acid, it also incorporates anti-inflammatory and reparative stem cell support to reduce redness and promote a continued pathway towards healthy wound healing. This formula launched in 2016 and has become essential for inflamed, dry acne. Retinal (Retinaldehyde) – A stable precursor to Retinoic Acid, the form of Vitamin A used by the human body; generates stellar anti‐age benefits to the skin and is the least irritating of all Vitamin A derivatives for topical use, making it great for all skin types – especially sensitive skin.
Mandelic Acid (L) (Alpha-Hydroxybenzeneacetic Acid) – A second generation alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from the hydrolysis of an extract of bitter almonds. Mandelic acid has been studied extensively for its uses in treating common skin problems such as photo-aging, irregular pigmentation and acne.
